Religion in Taiwan
« on: November 21, 2013, 07:35:26 PM »
What is the major religion in Taiwan? I am set to fly there for a convention, and I want to know the taboos based on their religion.

The main religion in Taiwan is Buddhism including Tantric Buddhism. They believe in the strength of spirit and ancestors. They think that after a person dies, his soul stays to protect his children. They also have rituals for some leisure such as harvesting, plowing their land, fishing and hunting. Their known taboos are they are forbidden to talk with outsiders or go in others’ field. When they are hunting, men should not touch things of a cannabis plant or else they may be lost or hurt.
