40's Music

I don't know what it is about this genre but I absolutely love listening to it. Spike Jones is so hilarious. I also just like the sound that they had at that period in history.

Some of it is alright to listen to, but my favorite music starts from the '50's era on.  I can listen to the '40's, but I have to be in the right mindset.

Isn't that the decade when big band music was really po*r? What I've heard of that music is pretty cool, but I'll admit I don't know much about it, it's way before my time. Other than Spike Jones, who else would you recommend checking out?

My parents were young people in the 40's so I grew up listening to music of this era. When I was younger I  hated it. But as I became older I grew to like and appreciate it. I think it is kind of cool now.

My parents still have some albums by  Glenn Miller, and Duke Ellington (I think). I like watching old movies about the big band era. I can't remember the name of the movies I have seen, though.
