Henna comes from the leaves of the bush, lawsonia inermis. The leaves are left to dry and made into powder that is then used to make henna paste.
Countless places practice henna. Africa's Atlantic Coast is one. Malaysia, too, witnesses henna practices. Many regions in India also practice it, thereby requiring the practice and the plant to be translated into different names pertaining to different Indian communities.
