Basically, "Prog" or Progressive rock is a subgenre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s as part of a mostly British attempt to bring to the fore rock music to new ranks of artistic credibility. Progressive rock pushed rock's technical and compositional margins by going *rther than the standard rock or trendy verse-chorus-based song structures.

Hi! Just want to add up valuable information about Prog. Well, Prog's arrangements often integrated elements drawn from cl*ical, jazz, and later world music. Instrumentals were common, while songs with lyrics were sometimes conceptual, abstract, or based in fantasy. Progressive rock bands sometimes used concept albums that made amalgamated statements, usually telling an epic story or tackling a grand overarching theme.

Hope I contributed a little help!   :ugeek: :)
