When To have my Maternal Leave?
« on: November 07, 2013, 04:42:46 PM »
I’m a working mom and I’m 1 month pregnant. How long should I continue working before taking my maternal leave? I want to prepare for my safe pregnancy and delivery of my first baby.

Most moms start their maternity leaves during their third trimester, specifically on their 9th month. This is because they are healthy and strong enough to bear the pregnancy and just take a leave when the baby is almost on its way. There are some unfortunate ones - myself included - that were asked by the OB to take a leave earlier than usual because of some hypertension and stress related complications. You should talk to your OB about it. She will be suggesting the best for you, anyway. It's up to you if you'll follow her suggestion because you know your body better than her.
