There are four common types of dental implants. One is Root Form Dental Implant, this is the most commonly used implant and is used where there is plenty of width and depth to your jawbone. Two is Plate Form Dental Implant, this is used if your jawbone is too narrow for bone grafting, a Plate Form implant is placed into your jawbone. Three is Subperiosteal Dental Implants, it is custom made to rest on top of your jawbone and under your gums. next is the Mini Dental Implants, it tend to cost less than traditional implants and can be used to attach a dental implant supported denture or partial. Lastly, the Immediate Load Dental Implants are placed at the time of a tooth extraction cutting down the healing time tremendously. The dental implant is surgically placed right after the tooth extraction and the crown is immediately attached to the implant.
