Blaming Religion
« on: November 10, 2013, 10:00:39 PM »
If a sexual crime is charged on a priest, a lot of people attack the religion he represents. I say that his religion has nothing to do with him being a s*bag. What do you think?

I agree with you totally! People have the choice to either be good or be bad, no matter what religion he is in. There's no point in blaming the religion because I bet that the religion he is a part of does not tell its people to do bad things to random and innocent people.

I'd like to compare it with a rotten cop in the police department. When a cop does bad things and it gets published, the whole police department gets the flack. I agree with you that the individual should be punished and not the institution; but you can't remove the two from each other.

The institution is there to ensure that its members follow the rules and regulations set forth. If the organization finds out that that an individual is at fault or commits wrong doing, it should make the necessary steps to correct the action.

What happened with the Catholic Church was that, they tried to hide the issue.
