Mammograms: is it safe??
« on: November 10, 2013, 09:00:05 PM »
If Mammograms slightly increase my risks of breast cancer, why does everyone say to get them? I’m a bit curious since I heard that mammograms discharges radiation that can come up with cancer cells.

There are latest research has shown that repeated exposure to mammograms may act as an independent risk factor for breast cancer. While many medical experts still recommend regular mammograms, which take an x-ray like photograph of the breast, to identify small tumors, opposition to the practice is growing.  I have been against the use of mammograms for over the years and truly believe that the radiation may provoke the production of cancerous cells.
