What to ask

When hiring a family doctor, what should you ask? Is it proper to ask a doctor what his specialization is? How much do you pay to retain a family doctor?

Well, if you are looking for a family doctor, I think it would be fair to ask about his specialization. However, I think that most family doctors are general practitioners. They are not really specialized on anything.

I would also ask how long have they been a family doctor and if the business is doing well. If it is doing well, it only means that he has lots of patients.

As for the rates, I think it depend on where you are. NYC doctors charge more than in Utah.
