What do you mean when you are using a GSM connection? They say that 4G is the new wave  of mobile technology. What does this all mean and how does it affect us?

GSM means Global System for Mobile communications in a cellphone. In many parts of Europe, the only available signal is GSM. It specifically works for encryption to make phone calls more secure, for data networking, for call forwarding, for caller ID, for call waiting and for multi-party conferencing.
