In this hard economic times, family planning really makes sense. But what is the ideal number of children that a family should have?

I agree with you. Family planning should really be a priority of the government and the couples themselves. We are fighting for limited resources and the cost of goods are on the rise. If we don't limit the number of children we will have, we will certainly have a hard time maintaining and living the life we want to live.

2 would be my ideal number of kids.

We all know that Americans don't always prefer small families. My husband and I have 2 kids. We are in the middle of trying to decide on having a 3rd or not. It is a really tough decision. Things feel perfect and easy right now with two. So I guess we'll just stick with two children.  :)
