401k exemptions

What are the exemptions apply for 401k and IRA? I live here in Ohio. Are the exemptions different to other states?

There are 11 states that don't tax public and qualified private pensions and they are:    Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, M*achusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New York and Pennsylvania. Some states will only tax the qualified plan, but exempt public pensions earned in the state. You should be able to find some rates here that will help you out here: www.tax.ohio.gov.
