18 year old required to join army
« on: November 19, 2013, 10:06:11 PM »
Are 18 year old men still required to join the army or is it only when there’s some kind of conflict? Also, when there’s no war or anything too serious, what do these army guys do and how do they make money off being in the army?

I don't think all 18-year old males are still required to join the navy. My cousin just turned 18 and he wasn't invited to join the armed forces although he really wanted to so he did. Anyway, they still get money for training and all that but that's not the reason why they join the armed forces. They just want to protect their countrymen and our safety is compensation enough to most of them.

The government usually picks young adults to get drafted and join the armed forced when we’re at war. There are also some cases when a delinquent gets into trouble with the law and made to choose; boot camp or jail. The choose boot camp because they would rather face a drill sergeant than be an inmate’s “lady”.
