Games to while the time away

When people turn indoors due to snowstorms, kids were forced to become creative especially when the Internet was not yet ubiquitous. What were your favorite pastimes back then?

I remember the time my mother was such a fitness nut. Whenever she would see us just lolling around  indoors, she would invite us to do an indoor exercise for kids. It was just a series of jogging in place and some arm and leg stretches. That time, my sister and I thought it very *nny. We were also into board games like Monopoly and Scrabble. Little did I know that time that I would grow up to become a writer and a fitness nut. :)
