Idle time
« on: November 12, 2013, 06:00:55 PM »
What productive things can my cousin do during his spare time? He's recently been laid off, and he's been spending much of his time in our house.

If he has some technical skill in him (video editing, graphic design, website design, etc.), I think he can apply to some websites that offer home-based jobs such as oDesk (odesk.com), Freelancer.com or Teamlauncher.com. These websites normally pay in USD. This way, your cousin can control how much time he wants to work.

Yes, that's right. He can do some home-based work in his spare time and earn some money. If he has some other manual skills, he can offer some car mechanic services or gardening c*s. There are many other odd jobs that he can do to spend his time more productively and all he can do is just look for it.

I agree. Asked him what kind of skills he usually do and may apply at your home. You can also ask this in a very calm and normal way because telling this to your cousin; he might have a feeling of blowing him away from your house. So be nice when talking to him and tell him that you were just thinking of something to do for him because he might get bored while you are away.

Why don’t he utilize his skills for the time that he has been laid off. If he is into arts, he can practice that and maybe start a gallery where he can sell his materials. Or if he knows technical stuff, he can start using his computer by starting editing or designing. Some companies offer home based jobs so he doesn’t need to leave the house while he’s earning.
