What to do?
« on: November 12, 2013, 04:47:06 PM »
My father had a 1987 Pontiac Trans Am, but it was over 10 years that never been driven. I would to use it. What do you do with this car that hasn't been driven in a long time?

The first thing you can do is check the condition of the engine by calling an auto expert or a car mechanic. You can try to start the engine and see if it is works, including the brakes. On the outside, check the tires and the body. But the most important thing is the engine. Make sure that it is still working and if you need to make repair or replace some parts, then do it.

Starting a car which hasn't been driven or used or even started for a couple of years can be quite tricky.

I would suggest that you check if the engine has oil and the battery has some juice left. If the engine has some oil left, try starting the car. If it doesn't start, try cleaning the ignition system. Once you have done this, check if the *el filter sips gas. Then try to start the engine again.

If this fails, call a mechanic.
