« on: November 11, 2013, 11:58:40 PM »
How does the FBI differ from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)?

The FBI is a primary law enforcement agency for the U.S. government, charged with enforcement of more than 200 categories of federal laws. Whereas, the DEA is a single-mission agency charged with enforcing any matters concerning drug laws, while the ATF primarily enforces federal firearms statutes and investigates arsons and bombings. The FBI works closely with both agencies on cases where its jurisdictions overlap. It can be a union of both during cases like a big-time drug deal is on the list of the upcoming buy-bust operation and such.
