Like any other federal crimes and matters, the FBI also has the authority to investigate and if possible within a short time frame, make arrests in drug trafficking crimes.  Except that their investigations focuses on entire criminal enterprises rather than on individuals. Through this process, all aspects of the criminal operation can be identified as it not only the prosecution of the criminal enterprise, but also the seizure of the enterprise’s *ets and is intended to disrupt or dismantle entire criminal organizations. Typically, the law enforcement agency works closely with the Drug Enforcement Administration and through Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Forces around the country.

What about drug trafficking do you want to know?

I believe that FBI helps the local authorities in fighting drug trafficking since drug trafficking is also considered one of the security threats in the US. Terrorists and organized crime units do get their *nds and money from the drug trade.
