Modular or Traditional Construction
« on: November 09, 2013, 02:53:37 PM »
My wife and I are planning to build our dream house. We have seen a couple of architects already. Some of them want us to try the modular construction system and others want to stick with the traditional construction techniques. Can someone give us feedback about the pros and cons of each?

Modular construction systems use prefabricated parts that are *embled on site for faster construction times. They also tend to be cheaper and more affordable than traditional construction methods since most of the parts are made from an *embly line before they reach the construction site, saving up on construction and manpower costs.
A downside to choosing a modular construction system is that it usually follows a fixed design configuration that offers less options for your personal design choices for a home. You do not always have the freedom to offer personal input when it comes to design, only what is available and possible for modular systems.
