Booking Your Room / Cabins in Gatlinburg
« on: September 26, 2013, 01:19:30 PM »
I am planning a little vacation with my husband to Gatlinburg, Tn. I think I want to rent one of those cabins instead of a hotel. Has anyone sta* at one of these cabins? Do you have any good suggestions? I want it to be a romantic weekend.

Alternative (Rock & Electronica) / Dax Riggs
« on: September 26, 2013, 06:35:28 AM »
Anyone ever heard of Dax Riggs? He is not really a mainstream artist but I love him! His voice is like no other and kind of reminds me of the blues. Dax has been in many bands but I prefer him solo. His voice really stands out that way.

Growth and Development / Speech

My cousin has a son who is six years old and I still can not understand what he says. I am afraid he might be developmentally dela* but she acts like nothing is wrong. He starts school this year so maybe if there is a problem they will catch it. Is this normal? I can't help but be worried!

Camping / Bankhead National Forrest in Alabama
« on: September 25, 2013, 06:54:20 PM »
One of the best spots I have been camping is located in the Bankhead National park. The park is so huge and there are four campgrounds to choose from. My husband and I picked the Brushy Lake campground. Our camping spot was nestled into the woods with a view of the lake. The woods were beauti*l and were *ll of ferns and other plants I rarely see while camping. If you are ever in Alabama check out the Bankhead!

Breast Cancer / Freckles, moles and cancer
« on: September 23, 2013, 06:44:32 AM »
I have been wondering about something that I remember hearing. People say watch your skin for new freckles or moles because it could be cancer. I noticed a little freckle right under my breast. It is kind of close to the areola. Not sure if it is new or not. If it was cancer would it be skin cancer or breast cancer?

Other / Hair and home remedies
« on: September 23, 2013, 06:34:41 AM »
I am a big fan of home remedies. I enjoy using them because they are cheap and have always worked good for me. A lot of what I know was p*ed down to me by my grandma and mom. So, I thought I would p* some knowledge on to everyone else.
When I was a teen I would get oily hair. I used just a bit of baking soda to remedy this. Baking soda is also good to take away buildup if you use a lot of styling products in your hair. Just use a little bit or you will end up with dry hair!
I always end up with a few bananas that have ripened beyond eating. I never throw them away, I use the ripe bananas for dry hair. This one is messy but worth it. Just mash up the banana and apply to hair. You could also add a ripe avocado to the banana mush. Let the banana sit for 20 minutes and then rinse well.
Mayo is also good for dry hair. It is suppose to make your hair shiny too. I used too much mayo one time and just got greasy hair. If you try using mayo I suggest using just a tiny bit. Leave on for maybe 5 minutes then rinse.

Venues / Crossroads in Huntsville, Al

Crossroads is a nice venue in Huntsville, Alabama. It's address is 115 Clinton, Ave if you get a chance to check it out. Local bands and bigger bands are contantly playing here. Shows usually play Thursday-Saturday but on occasion weekdays. I am hoping to catch the Rasputina show in November.

Women's Health / Pap Smears
« on: September 17, 2013, 03:30:15 PM »
I know, you ladies are cringing at this title. Who wants to be reminded of a pap smear? Well, I'm going to be your little annoying reminder to get one! I hate them too but this screening is a must! Cervical cancer use to be a number one killer of females before the pap smear test was invented. Don't let yourself fall victim to a disease that can be cured!

Bad Experiences / Jellyfish!
« on: September 16, 2013, 09:15:32 AM »
I am sure everyone who has been on vacation at a beach has been stung by a jellyfish. If you have not you are lucky! I thought I would share a few tips on getting rid of the stinging feeling. This knowledge is especially help*l when you have kids. Ammonia will rid the pain. I don't think anyone thinks to pack ammonia when they go to the beach. If you did a spray bottle might be good to put it in. A very strange alternative to ammonia is pee. Yes, I said it! Urine works great because it has ammonia in it. Don't give me that face! I know what your thinking. Who wants to be pee'd on? Believe me, when you've gotten stung by several jellyfish you will try anything to get rid of the stinging! The last thing I know of was told to me by a local surfer. He said take sand and rub it on your skin. It takes the jellyfish barbs out.

Tours / Katy Perry tour
« on: September 16, 2013, 09:02:57 AM »
Katy Perry is on tour right now. Current dates are in Texas and California. Later this year it looks like she will be headed to South America and the UK. I think I might try to go to the show in New Orleans. It's at the New Orleans Arena on September 8th. Tickets are on the $37 to $47 range. Anybody seen Katy in concert? Is it worth the ticket price?
