My cousin is about to finish her last term in her Ph.D. course. What is a good gift I can give her to celebrate this achievement?

Failed Placement / What to do if adoption application is turned down?

If an application for adoption fails, should one give it a try again with the same institution? Are there offices that can be approached for reconsideration or appeal?

Traditions / Re: Coat of arms
« on: November 04, 2013, 05:27:11 AM »
In the mid-12th century, knights and lords from Europe used coat of arms as a sign of heraldry and as a way to be identified to their allies. Presently, coat of arms or blazons are used by institutions like schools to celebrate their traditions and legacy. To this day, Scotland and England have groups that authorize the use of coat of arms.

I don't see any problem if you have a coat of arms created for the family of your friend. It will be symbolic of their charitable deeds and generosity, and they can use it as a design point inside their home.

Arachnids / Re: Tarantula Gender
« on: November 04, 2013, 05:20:01 AM »
Did you know that there are over 900 tarantula species? :)

It is said that female tarantulas are larger than their male counterparts. Females also have a larger abdomen for conception. They molt while males don't. The part that molts is usually the area underneath the abdomen. This area covers the glands for storing sperms. Females have spots in orange or red on their abdomen and back to attract male tarantulas. Males come in grey, black or brown shades. They have hooks on their front legs to protect themselves during mating from the fangs of females.

Balloons and Decorations / Re: Exploding balloons
« on: November 04, 2013, 05:12:30 AM »
You can scatter the balloons around the party venue or have them in pairs or in threes decorating key spots.

Another way to maximize the balloons is to let them soar toward the ceiling. Another tip: You can paste the balloons on the ceiling based on a layout you want. You can even form the initials of the celebrant using the balloons. Balloons shaped into animals can also give the party a quirky and play*l vibe.

Announcements / Re: canon fans!

Thanks for this tip. I'll definitely tell my cousin who is into photography and film production. Say, do you have the name yet for that concept for EOS DSLR or the model name itself of the gadget? When will they release the line of products having this feature?

Online Only / Re: Manolo Blahniks!!!
« on: November 04, 2013, 05:03:05 AM »
I think it was Carrie Bradshaw who made Manolo Blahnik a household name recited by shoe-loving individuals. I'm convinced that the Manolo shoes in Sex and the City deserve their own bylines in the credits part. :) I won’t forget this quote from that show: “I’ve spent $40,000 on shoes, and I have no place to live? I will literally be the woman who lived in her shoes!”

Seven / Re: 7 for all Mankind
« on: November 04, 2013, 04:51:15 AM »
I love jeans sold by 7 for all Mankind! Its low rise and tight fit styles are very fashionable. It was Jerome Dahan, Peter Koral, and Michael Gl*er who set up the brand in 2000. In 2007, Gl*er and Dahan created VF Corporation.

Having originally designed women's jeans, 7 for all Mankind now has a men's line. Cuts for women's jeans include low-rise, A-pocket, wide legs, flare, and boot cut. :)
