Title: Teachings
Post by: 101otro on November 23, 2013, 04:41:07 PM
What are the most important teaching of the Benedictines to the world? I know they've contributed something significant to the way people think but I can't remember what it is.

I think one of their most lasting teachings is the Ora Et Labora way or Prayer and Work. The monastic lives and divine temperament of Benedictine monks allowed them to practice this. Prayer and Work are two simple words but carry the weight of human's existence. It refers to our core: our physical bodies for labor and our spiritual beings for divinity.
